A Boise man faces two first-degree felony stalking charges after police say he was spotted following children at a number of west Boise businesses.

In June of last year, Boise Police began an investigation into the suspect –- later identified as Ryan Herman, 31 –- after a report of a stalking that occurred inside a business on the 300 block of N. Milwaukee St.

For the past twelve months, officers responded to similar reports involving victims under the age of sixteen at not only the same business, but other businesses in the area.

In all the incidents, police discovered similar descriptions of the suspect.

According to a Boise Police news release, investigators were able to link multiple reports to Herman. “Officers also learned the suspect travels for work -– so Boise Police reached out to law enforcement in Washington and Oregon (for help),” the release said.

The Boise Police Department’s investigation was sent to the Ada County Prosecutor, and a search warrant and an arrest warrant were issued for Herman.

He was arrested Monday, June 18th, and booked into the Ada County Jail on two felony charges of first-degree stalking. The charges are felonies because the victims were younger than sixteen, police explained.

If anyone has additional information about the suspect or these crimes, you are asked to call Ada County dispatch at 208-377-6790 or Crime Stoppers: at 208-343-COPS (2677), www.343COPS.com, or leave a tip using the “P3 Tips” app for your mobile device.
