An 18-year-old woman told Boise Police officers a man grabbed her from behind and cut her with a knife late Sunday night.

Police responded to a report of a battery that occurred on 11th Street about 10:30 p.m. Sunday. The victim said she was walking home when a man grabbed her from behind near West Fort Sreet, according to a Boise Police news release.

“The man used a small knife to cut her lower right cheek and her chest. The victim was able to pull away from the man and run home,” the release stated.

The victim’s injuries did not require medical attention or hospitalization.

Boise Police searched the area -- and notified additional units -- but could not locate the suspect.

The man is described as about six feet tall with a large build. He was wearing a long sleeve shirt.

The investigation is ongoing.
