Fifty-year-old Noel Rodriguez was shot after police say he attacked an officer with a sharp tool and then rammed his truck into a police vehicle.

Rodriguez was a paroled murderer who served time for beating a young woman to death in Wilder in the early 90's.
He was released last February when the Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole approved his petition for parole.
The shooting of Rodriguez was investigated by the critical incident task force and the Meridian Police Department.
