Boise Police detectives are investigating two incidents from Tuesday night where one man was stabbed and another was hospitalized after receiving serious injuries from a beating. The beating is believed to be in connection to the stabbing. The stabbing was reported near the intersection of 17th Street and Shoreline Drive around 11:30 Tuesday night.

According to Boise Police, the men involved in the stabbing knew each other. They had been involved in a physical altercation when one stabbed the other with a knife and ran from the scene. The stabbing victim was taken to a hospital by friends with non-life threatening injuries.

When officers were talking to that man at the hospital, other officers began investigating a battery that happened near 17th Street. That victim, also a man, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries that were related to being beaten with a blunt-force object.

Detectives from the BPD Violent Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation. Current evidence suggests that the two incidents are connected. It is believed that the victim who had been beaten is likely the suspect in the stabbing of the first man.

The investigation is still ongoing, and the suspect for beating the second man is believed to be at large. Boise Police is asking that anyone with any information about the two incidents call police at 208-377-6790.
