A Boise Police officer assisted the Nyssa Police Department in arresting a wanted subject out of Texas.

Jeremy Daniel Tristan, 30, was arrested just outside of Nyssa, Oregon on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, strangulation, and domestic violence assault.

The charges were filed out of Hays County, Texas after Tristan was accused of assaulting a former girlfriend.

Police say Tristan used a tire iron in the assault and attempted to strangle the victim.

The Nyssa Police Department was contacted by a Boise Police Department officer who obtained information that Tristan was at a residence located near Nyssa.

Officers found Tristan and he was booked into the Malheur County Jail without incident.  Tristan will likely face extradition back to Texas.

Chief Rau, “We were to locate this suspect and take him into custody without incident in large part due to the amount of information shared by the officer at the Boise Police Department in such a timely manner. The allegations against the suspect are very serious charges and the Nyssa Police Department takes great pride in dealing with these issues quickly and efficiently to keep our community safe, that is a responsibility we take seriously.”
