An early-morning traffic stop has led to the arrest of a man Boise Police say is a suspect in a weekend shooting involving a bail bondsman.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Monday, officers stopped a driver they say was speeding through a parking lot on the 7700 block of Fairview Avenue in west Boise.

The passenger was later identified by officers as Jerry Thumm, 57, of Boise -- suspected of battery on a bondsman on November 22nd.

Thumm was booked into the Ada County Jail on felony aggravated battery.

According to reports, about 11:15 Wednesday night, two bail bond agents attempted to contact a person in the area of Wesley Drive and Milwaukee Street, to revoke his bond and take him into custody.

As they tried to arrest the man, though, he reportedly sped away his vehicle, injuring one of the agents.

One bondsman fired his gun, but no one was struck.

The agent was taken to a hospital with what’s reported to be serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Boise Police officers arrived on the scene shortly thereafter,

Thumm is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Monday afternoon.
