BOISE — Two men and a woman have been booked into the Ada County Jail following what Boise Police are calling a “months-long” investigation into illegal drug activity at a Boise home.

Following neighborhood tips of possible illegal drug use at a home on the 7900 block of Wesley Drive, Boise Police Neighborhood Contact Unit officers began a months-long investigation.

“The investigation indicated that illicit controlled substances were being used inside the home in the presence of a baby under the age of one,” according to a Boise PD news release. Investigators forwarded their report to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office and a search warrant was later issued. Members of the BPD Special Operations Unit and NCO Unit served the search warrant at the home Tuesday afternoon.

“Inside, officers located methamphetamines, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm. The home was also found to be unclean and not conducive to raising a small child,” the release stated.

The baby was placed into the custody of the State Health and Welfare Department.

Police arrested Jerry Thumm (pictured, left), 59, of Boise. He’s charged with injury to a child, possession of a controlled substance, being a convicted felon unlawfully possessing a weapon, and a probation violation. All are felonies.

Officers also arrested Rachelle Hupp, 52, of Boise. She now faces charges of injury to a child and possessing a controlled substance. Both are felonies.

Jesse Brown, 33, of Donnelly was also arrested. He’s charged with being a convicted felon possessing a weapon (a felony) and frequently a place where drugs are used (a misdemeanor).
