The City of Boise approved a number of changes to its downtown parking, including increasing meter rates and enforcement hours.
Saturdays will no longer offer free parking downtown; and depending on where you park, the increase for parking meters is anywhere from $0.25 to $0.75 per hour. Cheaper rates will be in the outlying areas.
The council was tied on the decision, with Mayor David Bieter passing the deciding vote.
The changes go into effect Feb. 1.
