BOISE, Idaho — Whether it's from an old school field trip, or a highlight of a past vacation, we all have memories of museum visits. Today, museums around the world are celebrating International Museum day!

Here in Idaho, ten local museums gathered at the MK Nature Center to celebrate.

"(You can) learn about Idaho's cultural resources, historical resources, natural resources, and the things that our museums here in Boise have to offer," said Sara Focht, the Vice President of the Boise Museum Association.

Young visitors got very excited learning about the different wildlife here in Idaho.

"I just wanted to see all the animals and stuff. we got to see fishes and we got to get worms and take them out to the pond and put them in there and the fish would eat them," said Hayden Robertson, a visitor at today's event. "I just want to say one thing: it was really fun here."

Despite the rainy weather, plenty of people turned out to celebrate Idaho's museums.

"We have a pretty good turnout today! It's not too bad, temperature is nice. Many booths are inside, but some are here outside and it's been pretty nice and you can still do the activities and you can still see what we have to offer," Focht said.
