After 25 years, Boise Police say they have charged Lee Robert Miller with second-degree murder in connection with the 1994 death of 49-year-old Boise resident Cheryle Barratt.
Boise Police detectives, working together with Bremerton Police detectives, used DNA evidence to identify Miller, 54, as a suspect in two homicides. One took place in 1992 in Bremerton; the other was the 1994 Boise killing.
Miller was arrested in Boise January 2nd on a warrant out of Kitsap County, Washington, and charged with second-degree murder for the death of Bremerton resident Marilyn Hickey. At that time, Miller was also a suspect in Barratt’s death.
Since then, Boise Police detectives conducted follow up interviews in Boise.
The Ada County Prosecutor’s Office has issued a warrant charging Miller with second-degree murder. Miller will face that charge after he goes through the criminal justice process in Washington, according to a Boise Police news release.
He is currently being held in the Kitsap County Jail in Washington awaiting trial.
