A 17-year-old student who was threatening to jump off a roof at Boise High School was negotiated into safe custody by Boise Police officers.

The call came in about 10 a.m. on Tuesday after the administration was informed that a student was walking on the roof without permission.

Boise Police were called in and the school decided to place all students on lockdown.

Negotiators were brought onto the scene and calmed the student down who came down off the roof on his own.

The teen was taken to local  hospital for observation.
