The Boise Hawks will host the Northwest League and Pioneer League all-star game on August 6 of next year.
The Boise Hawks made the announcement at city hall and thanked their fans, their dedicated staff and the city of Boise.
"It was probably late last summer when we said we can do this," said General Manager Bob Flannery. "I know there are newer ballparks, but I said we got a great fan base and we should put a bid."
Flannery said that the fanbase is made up of ten to fifteen percent die-hard baseball fans, but the rest is made up of families who want to take their kids to a ballgame and not break the bank.
Mayor Bieter was on hand to show support for the Boise Hawks and this announcement will mean minor league players, fans and coaches will make their way to the Treasure Valley.
"I think a lot of people want to come down here and see what we are all doing," said Flannery.
