Boise Green Bike has added up total rides over a year, and although they fell short of planned goal, organizers remain optimistic about the program in the City of Trees.
The goal for the program launched on April 15, 2015, was to have 25,000 total rides from both residents and visitors in a calendar year.
The final tally? 14,000 rides which officials call a step in the right direction but not a total success.
Over 90% of the rides purchased through the program are hourly and officials are planning on opening more stations across the Boise metro to hopefully get people outside of the downtown core and option to rent a bicycle.
"We are looking at a couple of locations along Parkcenter Boulevard the North End. Of course, we're looking at the west end of the new Esther Simplot Park," Director of Boise Green Bike explained.
