Students receive new coats from Boise Fire Dept.

Posted

The Boise Fire Fighter’s local 149 handed out brand new coats to students at Morley Nelson Elementary.

In total, kids from eight different schools will receive about 215 coats to keep them warm this winter and the Boise Fire Department emphasized that it’s just another aspect to their job that keeps them engaged with the community.

"A lot of time we get to do a lot of great things on duty but we also get to do a lot of great things off duty as well, so this is one of those fun feel good events that you can help the community.” Matt Lutz from the Boise Fire Department explained. “Who doesn't like to see a kid smile and help make a kids life a little better. It’s something we can do to drive our own destiny and positively impact the community.”

This is the third year that BFD has handed out warm jackets.
