The Boise Fire Department needs your help. The men and woman in uniform are looking to raise money for a foundation close to their heart, Coats for Kids. Saturday they will be hosting their 10th annual pumpkin patch event. With over 4000 pumpkin to choose from, organizer said there is a pumpkin for everyone. In addition to the pumpkin patch there will be a bouncy house, corn maze and of course a lesson on fire safety.
"It's really important to teach kids about fire safety and fire prevention so we got the fire prevention division here teaching them about that. and then also the donation helping our local community and putting the money back in the community and helping the kids that needs a new coat this winter, " said Travis Schlabs, Boise Fire Department Senior Firefighter.
The event is free with your donation to operation warm. Organizers are asking for guest to donate money versus bringing in their coats. Here is a fun fact, the fire station grows a majority of the pumpkins at station 10. If you are interested in checking out this event it takes place Saturday October 14th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Boise fire station 10 located at 12065 West McMillian Road.
