A Boise program promoting nutrition and support for local farmers is making its weekly rounds.
The Boise Farmers Mobile Market brings fresh produce to Boise neighborhoods. They visit parks and senior centers.
A new addition this year is farm fresh eggs.
Fruit will soon be added to the mix as well.
"Eating local, eating seasonal... it's great. We even have recipes that we offer with some of the stuff that's a little more challenging. Not everyone knows what to do with say garlic scapes or Bok Choy," says Julie D'Agostino, one of the mobile market drivers. "So, we offer that."
You can also bag up items using food assistance vouchers.
The mobile program is offered every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday through Aug. 30. To view their schedule, visit http://theboisefarmersmarket.com.
