Thanksgiving is just around the corner and the Boise airport expects a busy holiday travel season this year especially.

The week of thanksgiving is the busiest holiday travel week and this year, Boise airport expects to see a record number of people flying.

An average of 8,500 passengers travel through the Boise airport every day but during the Thanksgiving holiday this year, that number is expected to be closer to 12,000.

The busiest days are expected to be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday when people head home.

"When people are traveling during the holidays, we always encourage them to talk to their airline, make sure that their flight is going to be on time. Going to your airlines website is the best way to do that. Show up two hours early. We normally say 90 minutes but two hours during the holiday. It's smart, that way if there's longer lines, you'll get through security," said Sean Briggs, Boise Airport marketing manager.

They encourage travelers to visit, https://www.tsa.gov/ to see what items are restricted.

The Galaxy Note7 is banned from all air travel by the United States Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration.
