Pups and nature? What's not to love!

August 26 is National Dog Day, and to celebrate, Bogus Basin hosted a 'puppy party' at Simplot Lodge.

One attendee said she rescued her dog, Daphne, from the Boise Humane Society only one year ago. When she first rescued Daphne, she says she was afraid of people and would bark at other dogs.. but not anymore.

"It's just amazing that I can take her to an event like this," said Kate Beradino, Daphne's owner, "where she's not scared and she's totally acclimated and comfortable now."

The meetup began at 11 this morning. Cool mountain temperatures in the fifties gave dog owners a nice break from summer heat and the opportunity take their dogs on hikes on nearby trails.
