MOSCOW — The Idaho State Board of Education Thursday named C. Scott Green as the nineteenth president of the University of Idaho.

The Board approved a three-year contract for Mr. Green during a special Board meeting held by teleconference at the Albertson Building on the U of I campus in Moscow.

Green is a University of Idaho graduate, a Moscow native and a fourth-generation Idahoan. He currently serves as the Global Chief Operating and Financial Officer of Hogan Lovells, a highly ranked international law firm with over 45 offices globally and over $2 billion in total revenue. The firm was recently recognized as the second most innovative law firm in North America and in Europe by Financial Times.

“Mr. Green is a Vandal to the core,” said State Board Member and U of I President Screening Committee Chair Emma Atchley. “He’s a proven leader and manager and is highly respected in business circles worldwide. The Board believes he brings unique skills and he has demonstrated to us a passion and a personal commitment to the University of Idaho that will be transformative for the institution, its students, faculty, staff, alumni, the people of Moscow and the State of Idaho.”

Green graduated from the U of I in 1984 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

He also holds an MBA from Harvard University, which he earned in 1989.

C. Scott Green takes over as president of the University of Idaho on July 1, 2019. His annual salary will be $420,000.
