Downtown Boise has great restaurants and bars, but this week a longstanding watering hole received a special honor being recognized as the best in the country.
Bittercreek Alehouse has been a fixture on eighth street for nearly twenty-five years.The restaurant focuses on keeping business environmentally friendly with a passion for locally grown food.
That made in Idaho passion has naturally seeped into what is poured behind the bar, more than forty draft beers are available, many made right here in the Treasure Valley.
The industry group nightclub and bar took notice, awarding Bittercreek as the best beer bar of the year.
"It is a surprise and it is awesome in Boise. It is difficult to get any national recognition for what you do and for us, for me, it is just great for our team", said Dave Krick.
The awards will be given out in late March at an industry event in Las Vegas.
