BOISE, Idaho — If you love to bike, you've got something to be pumped about!

Boise opened up it's first ever bike only parking garage this week. The project, called BikeBOI, is inside the PARKBOI garage at 9th and Main in downtown Boise.

The Capitol City Development Corporation is behind the project.

“We’re looking for innovative ways to serve all modes of transportation,” said Matt Edmond, CCDC Project Manager – Capital Improvements. “We studied bicycle parking solutions in cities around the country and combined the best of what we saw in the new BIKEBOI facility, seeking to strike a good balance between functionality, aesthetics, durability, and cost effectiveness.”

BikeBOI provides secure, street-level parking for up to 42 bicycles at once.

Other features include:

• 18 lockers and seating for changing in and out of bike gear

• Open 24/7 and available to the general public with access day and night and on the weekends

• Key-card access, safety lighting, and video camera security

• Bike repair station and an air pump for public use

BikeBOI memberships will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. You can get access to BikeBOI for the rest of 2019 for $20. In 2020, access will cost $7 a month.
