Erin Cunningham, a local artist and BSU professor was diagnosed with a rare form of Blood cancer.
She is being treated in Seattle for a bone marrow transplant, but the costs are mounting, so the community is stepping up to help.
A benefit was held Sunday in Garden City at the Visual Art Collective.
The community had a chance to bid on over 100 donated auction items from local artists and businesses.
Tons of people came out to listen to the live music, and show their support.
"This has been an amazing event. It's really incredible to watch how the Boise community has been just so engaged and ready to help Erin. We've had amazing auction items donated and everyone has bid really well. I think we have raised several thousand dollars tonight to help her and it's just really been an amazing experience," said Anna Demetriades.
All of the proceeds will go towards her treatment and living costs.
Although she wasn't able to make it out because of her treatment in Seattle, friends of Erin said she was blown away by all of the support.
