TREASURE VALLEY, Idaho — The S.O.S Service Drive created and run by high school senior and hip hop artist RandyB Funk runs through December 22, 2020.

Funk created the annual service drive at just 11 years old and has continued the tradition every year since. The drive, which benefits the Boise Rescue Mission, the Idaho Humane Society and the Meridian Canine Rescue, received more than 7,000 donated items last year but Funk always hopes to do more.

Funk told Idaho News 6 "Every year my goal is to surpass last year's amount, and every year I've met that goal. It was four hundred, then a couple thousand, and then last year it was seventy-three hundred, and this year our goal is ten thousand, and we believe we're going to do that."

You can help by donating new underwear, socks, coats and other supplies at several different treasure valley locations. The supply drive also supports local pet organizations so new bedding, food and toys for your furry friends are also appreciated.

If you would like to volunteer to be a part of this year's promotion, you can contact RandyB Funk at 208-914-3793 or by email mcfunk48@gmail.com
