People who have loved ones with Alzheimer's know how difficult it can be. That's why the Alzheimer's Association's annual Reason to Hope breakfast brings together people who are affected by the disease.

Leaders from business, healthcare, finance and more attended the breakfast at St. Alphonsus this morning.

The event aims to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's research and programs.

One of the members of the leadership council says Alzheimer's affects everyone at some level.

"I started working in the area of elder care and things like that. As I became personally involved, it was astonishing to me, the difference that it made in the lives of families. It is so incredibly damaging to families as people begin to lose their inability to interact with each other, as they lose their ability to take care of themselves," said David Wilson, Alzheimer's Association Greater Idaho Chapter.
