Just in time for the winter season, officials have finished work on Bogus Basin Road to make traveling up to the resort safer.
The Ada County Highway District resurfaced about six miles this summer and added concrete jersey barriers with guard rails in areas where there have been serious accidents.
"It's a pretty dangerous corner here and there has been some slide offs in the past and now we have jersey barriers on one side and guardrails on the other," Bogus Basin Public Relations Spokesman John Hart explained.
In addition to adding safety precautions, engineers added strategic curbing to allow water from leaking onto the road and freezing.
ACHD is looking to get federal funding to repave the last few miles of Bogus Basin Road.
