MERIDIAN, Idaho — The City of Meridian is hosting its 14th annual Recovery Day Breakfast today. It's part of the recognition of September as National Recovery Month.

The Meridian Anti-Drug Coalition is teaming up with Mayor Tammy de Weerd's office for the event. This year's theme is "Together we are Stronger."

Guest speakers will share their personal journey, including a coalition member and her daughter, who has been in recovery for 15 years. They'll share their journey through the addiction and recovery process.

”We hope that residents in all stages of recovery, as well as their family and friends, will join us at this inspiring event," says Mayor Tammy. “The road to recovery is a difficult one, that is why it is so important that we show our residents that they have an entire community behind them.”

The breakfast is free at the Meridian Police Department on East Watertower Street from 7:30 to 9:30 this morning.
