MERIDIAN, ID — The 5th annual Bosnian and Herzegovinian heritage day brought a celebration of culture to Kleiner park today.
Local dance groups performed and there was plenty of food, desserts and coffee to sample.
Maya Duratovic says, "It's important to have events like these because America is such a melting pot it's really easy to assimilate into American culture and forget the roots of your family. And nowadays everybody's doing the DNA testing and finding out where they're coming from and we don't need to do that."
The celebration wraps up around 8 p.m. tonight.
