BOISE, Idaho — More food and retail is expected to come to downtown Boise in 2022.

According to the company, Hendricks Commercial Properties is planning a 29,000 square-foot building at 370 S. 8th Street known as The Warehouse that is expected to be completed sometime in 2022. The new building will be home to more than 20 food and retail vendors, including Boise's first food hall.

"Our vision for the food hall is to embrace local brands in a dynamic space with different looks and feels," said Rob Gerbitz, CEO of Hendricks Commercial Properties in a statement. "We believe Boisians and visitors alike are looking for new experiences and opportunities to take in all that Boise has to offer. This project is going to do that and it will keep them coming back for more."

The building will have common seating and other amenities, as well as patio seating. The company announced work on the building's exterior come first, aiming to emulate the "original look and feel of the surrounding historic warehouse district."

Hendricks Commercial Properties also has plans for former retail space at 8th and Broad and a boutique hotel near Owyhee that will break ground in 2022.
