CALDWELL — A Treasure Valley real estate agent has made it his mission to raise awareness that veterans commit suicide in the United States on a daily basis.

Robert Farias, a veteran who served in Iraq back in 2006 has created 22-0 Real Estate and for every house he sells this year he will donate $500 to a veterans organization.

Farias brought his first check to the Caldwell Memorial Hall on Friday and that money will help support their Ride for 22 that will happen in April.

"I started this because I wanted to raise awareness to the sobering facts about active duty and military veteran suicides that happen each day," said Farias. "There are 22 suicides a day and that is one every 65 minutes."

Farias said that one veteran suicide is too many and that he's proud to work with the Caldwell Memorial Hall to support the Ride for 22.
