According to the official Idaho Coronavirus website, as of today, 136 of the just over 400 long-term care facilities have experienced COVID-19 outbreaks across Idaho.

There are 1,668 total positive coronavirus cases throughout these different nursing homes and 125 COVID-19 related deaths associated with 36 of the facilities.

In March, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare developed a Long-Term Care Strike Team to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in nursing facilities.

The strike team works with the Department of Health and Preparedness Program and the Idaho Office of Emergency Management to ensure proper PPE and guidance are available for these long-term care facilities.

With the Federal Care Act funds, Governor Brad Little created programs such as the Idaho Rebounds cash grants and more which long-term care facilities have been able to leverage.
