Dog lovers rejoiced at Julia Davis Park today for the 11th annual "Pet-A-Pawlooza" fundraiser centered around man's best friend.
The event aims to raise money for the Boise Police Department's K-9 unit with each vendor donating a percentage of their earnings to the cause.
People who stopped by were able to get up close and personal with the K-9 units by viewing live demonstrations between the K-9's and their handlers.
"We all do a lot of charitable work and this is just something that kind of spoke to us, especially with Jardo being killed two years ago. It meant a lot to be able to help them bring on new dogs and train the new officers with the new dogs so it's been a pretty awesome event," said Christy Jordan.
Organizers hoped to raise $10,000 today with some of the proceeds also going to the local non-profit "SNIP"-Spay Neuter Idaho Pets.
