At Eagle Island State Park dozens of kids spent the day getting 'hooked' on fishing. The goal of "Cops & Bobbers" is to get kids hooked on fishing rather than drugs and crime, and show cops in a positive and friendly manner.

The event is a free fishing day that invites newcomers to the sport to learn how to cast a line. Not only did they receive instruction but they also got to take a fishing pole home with them.

Ada County Sheriff's Deputies and Eagle Police were there to give them some pointers.

If you missed out on your chance to fish for free today no need to worry Fish and Game is offering another free fishing day on June 9th.
