BOISE, ID — For some people, making a holiday meal isn't an option.
Metro Meals on Wheels prepares meals in their kitchen, which are approved by a registered dietitian, and they deliver them straight to homes. They provide nearly 1,000 hot meals each weekday to people who aren't able to get out.
"It's amazing how many of these folks do not have someone to look out for them or to give them some special attention during the holidays and so we're able to do that with a holiday meal, with some gifts, with some other things that come from some generous people in the community," said Grant Jones, CEO, Metro Community Services.
Meals on Wheels will deliver meals on Monday through Friday, and they can have frozen meals for the weekend. They will provide holiday meals in advance as well.
They need more volunteers year round even if it's one or two days of the month.
