MAGIC VALLEY — A mountain lion that was spotted roaming around downtown Kimberly was euthanized this morning to protect public safety.

Liz Stanger, who was driving between Madison and Monroe street, was able to capture the mountain lion on video before it ran off.

In a press release from the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, they say the mountain lion is thought to be the same one spotted around Kimberly for the past two days who has also not been showing fear of any humans.

According to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, if you come in close contact with a mountain lion they say it's important never to run away, never turn your back and slowly walk away while still maintaining eye contact.
