An early-morning fire damaged the attic of a Nampa fourplex.

The fire was first reported shortly before 7:30 a.m. in the 400 block of 14th Ave. South, near the intersection of 4th St. South and 14th Ave. South.

Witnesses told dispatchers flames were seen coming from the attic of the structure.

According to Nampa Fire Deputy Chief Kirk Carpenter, “It looks like crews were able to limit the fire to the attic.”

A second alarm was called, to bring in additional units from the Boise Fire Department –- likely due to the proximity of other buildings nearby and the fear that the fire may spread -- but the alarm was cancelled as crews were able to get the fire under control.

Residents of the fourplex were evacuated safely.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.
