BOISE, ID — The lighting of the Downtown Boise Holiday Christmas Tree is rescheduled for this Friday, December 6th, at six p.m. at the Grove Plaza. The lighting was scheduled for Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, but it fell in the evening of Thanksgiving due to unknown reasons.

Boise Mayor Dave Bieter will light the tree during a candlelit celebration. A military family from the Idaho Army National Guard will be joining Mayor Bieter on stage for the countdown.

The Woodward Family of Boise donated the original tree.

"Christmas is a time of cheer and joy and happiness, and this is just sad and shocking like I wasn't expecting to see that," said Robert O'very, Boise resident.
