Girl Scout cookie season is around the corner. Can’t wait to get your hands on Thin Mints, Samoas and all your other favorite cookies? While the season officially starts in January, Girl Scout cookies may be available for pre-order earlier, depending on your location.

Enter your zip code in the Girl Scout Cooke Finder to get all the details about when and where to score cookies in your neck of the woods. You can also download the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app so you’ll have all the crucial info at your fingertips.

Girl Scout cookie season usually conjures up images of local troops setting up shop outside grocery stores and going door to door to entice you with the iconic treats. These days, the Girl Scouts have evolved with the times, and you can purchase the cookies online.

The Digital Cookie platform allows local troops to create their own cookie website where customers can purchase cookies by Visa Checkout or credit card. To find out if you can buy cookies online from troops in your area, contact your local Girl Scout Council.

Cookie season was already underway when the coronavirus hit the U.S. in 2020, and the organization had to quickly adapt and find ways to sell safely. As the pandemic wears on, innovation continues to be a top priority as the organization strategizes ways to get cookies to customers while maintaining a safe distance.

In addition to online sales, the Girl Scouts have found other workarounds, such as drive-by or drive-through cookie booths. Girl Scouts are asked to wear masks, socially distance and use plenty of hand sanitizer at booths. Some troops will also offer delivery options.

“The interaction will be less this year than years past,” Melinda Glasco, public relations director for Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida, told South Florida Sun Sentinel. “But at the same time having all of those contactless options for contactless payment, for reaching out, this is a great opportunity for girls to learn some new skills of reaching out digitally to people.”
