BOISE — Boise Police detectives have linked a burglary suspect to about 20 additional home burglaries. The suspect, Daniel Kincaid, was arrested on November 29th in Boise County after fleeing a burglary in Boise on Spotted Horse Ave. See the previous news release from the Boise County Sheriff here https://www.facebook.com/boisecountySO/posts/576033046152318.

On Nov. 29th the victim on Spotted Horse Ave. in Boise reported hearing a knock at the door just before noon. The victim did not answer the door and the suspect soon after entered the home through an unlocked backdoor and started searching the home. The victim found a place to hide and called 911. The victim then watched the suspect return to his vehicle after stealing multiple items. The victim provided officers with a detailed description of the suspect and his vehicle. That description was broadcast out while Boise Police officers rushed to the victim’s home and searched the area. A short time later Boise County Sheriffs located the suspect as he sped through Idaho City.

Kincaid was arrested and upon further investigation, Boise Police officers found the items stolen from the victim on Spotted Horse Ave. The suspect also had hundreds of other items and evidence connecting the suspect to other burglary and theft reports. Officers are investigating recovered jewelry from burglary reports in Washington, Oregon and Boise. In addition to jewelry, officers have recovered other items including weapons, tools, clothing, social security cards, passports, prescriptions, trading cards, and coins. For the last several weeks, BPD detectives have been working to match the items with police reports. In those police reports, the suspect either gained entry into the home through an unlocked door or by breaking through a glass window or a door. Boise Police have been in contact with potential victims and are working to return any items and search area pawn shops.

“We are happy to be able to provide some justice to the victims and get their property back,” said Property Crimes Sgt. John Terry. “Home burglaries are very intrusive and personal in nature. We hope getting this criminal into custody and returning the stolen possessions will help the victims in the healing process.”

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending against Daniel Kincaid.
