Walsh named to play in ECHL All-Star Classic

The ECHL has announced that Steelheads defenseman Travis Walsh has been named an alternate captain for the ECHL All-Stars Classic and has been elevated to the starting lineup.

The rookie defenseman has appeared in 37 games for the Steelheads this season, scoring six goals and adding ten assists with a plus-9 rating. Walsh notched a goal and an assist on Monday afternoon against the Grizzlies in Idaho’s final game before the break.

The 23-year old blueliner will also represent the Steelheads in the Hardest Shot contest in the Great Meadow Federal Credit Union Skills Competition.

The All-Star Team is comprised of the League’s top talent and prospects, showcasing the future stars of hockey as they develop in the ECHL. The game will air LIVE exclusively on NHL Network on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 8 p.m. ET.
