Over on the ice, the Steelheads are getting ready for their first game of the ECHL playoffs against the Colorado Eagles. The playoffs begin this Friday.
Idaho finished the regular season on a four-game winning streak, during that streak forward Anthony Luciani became the tenth steelhead in the ECHL era to score 30 goals in one season.
Coach Graham says in order for his team to ensure a deep playoff run they will need to keep riding the stick of Luciani.
"He’s excited for this time of year, historically he has had huge regular seasons and then he hasn't been in the playoffs at this level so I know he is excited. He is a guy that brings constant energy. It’s so much easier to not have to pull the reigns on a guy than the whip. He is a guy that you know will be going and we are excited to have him,” said, Head Coach Neil Graham.
