The rain didn't stop the Meridian Warriors from taking on Lake City today for the Idaho State baseball championship! The Warriors haven't been to a state game for 20 years, and are looking for their first title since 1987. Lake City held on to win the 5A state title 4-1. That title is the first one for Lake City since 2007. Meridian head coach Rod Williams says that even though he's disappointed by the loss, Lake City was a worthy opponent.

“[You’ve got to] tip your hat to them. They made some great plays. Our kids played well, we hit the ball well, we didn't get timely hits… They earned it. They took away a couple potential big innings by some great plays and you know we were kind of hoping we had that going and it looked like maybe we were going to pull that off and we didn't. Tough loss.” Said the Head Coach.
