It's been three years since the Broncos have faced the San Diego State Aztecs.

Just how big is this game well the Aztecs are looking for their 3rd straight mountain west title, and to add more excitement the Broncos haven't won in San Diego since 2011.

History hasn't been on the side of Boise State as the last victory over a ranked opponent as an unranked team came in 2008.

Coach Harsin says the way the Aztecs have been playing it's going to be a challenge.

"This is a well-rounded football team they've got 17 sacks, 8 interceptions and they are number 12 in turnover margin.  If we continue to keep playing like we have done in this last game then we have put ourselves in a position to go out there and play our best football,” said Head Coach Bryan Harsin.

On the ground, the Broncos will an even bigger challenge to slow down Aztecs Rashaad Penny who already his six straight 100 yard games this season and is just 7 yards shy of a 1000 yard mark.

Boise State Defensive Coordinator Andy Avalos says his success is also credited to the players around him and who is blocking in front of him.  It also helps that Penny could be this year's Heisman Trophy winner.

"You know as a fan of old school smash mouth football you got to appreciate what they do.  You got to appreciate how they play.  Every great tailback has a great fullback and he has that.  He has a good o-line in front of him,” said Defensive Coordinator Andy Avalos.
