High School football began last night in the Gem State with several good games on top. Every year, there’s talk about the High School Classifications, and who’s the best in the state. The 5a SIC struggled last night, going just one and four versus 4a schools.

Caldwell knocked Nampa off 8-0. Emmett upset Timberline 48 to 14; the Huskies entered last night’s game as the reigning 3a state champ. Bishop Kelly was a winner against Kuna 34-14. Canyon Ridge defeated Columbia 32-21. The only winner for the 5a schools was Boise, knocking off Ridgevue 50-8. Ridgevue is in their first year after splitting off from Vallivue.
