Starting Saturday, several road construction projects and the Twilight Criterium bicycle race will create several road closures or lane restrictions in downtown Boise, according to the Ada County Highway District.

The following streest will be closed for the Twilight Criterium:

Jefferson Street between 6th Street and 9th Street;
6th Street between Jefferson Street and Bannock Street;
Bannock Street between 6th Street and 9th Street;
and 9th Street between Bannock Street and Jefferson Street

Road closures begin at 7 a.m. and will be lifted at midnight Saturday.

There will also be a number of road construction project going on over the weekend, prompting these riad closures:

Warm Springs Avenue between Barber Drive and Broadway Avenue will be closed for weekend work only on Saturday and Sunday. No access will be allowed between Barber Drive and Starview Drive. The closure is necessary to allow crews to repair a sewer trench, according to the ACHD.

State Street between Glenwood Street and Arthur Street, and Gary Lane north of State Street will have lane restrictions with flagging on Sunday. The restrictions are necessary to allow ACHD crews to chip seal this portion of roadway, an ACHD spokeswoman said.

Fairview Avenue, east of Cloverdale Road will have lane restrictions with flagging on Saturday. The restrictions are necessary to allow Intermountain Gas access to perform gas main work.

Ustick Road between Linder Road and Meridian Road, and all legs of the intersection at Meridian Road and Ustick Road will have lane restrictions with flagging starting Monday July 18, through the first part of October. Restrictions are necessary to relocate power for an ACHD project.

Broad Street between 5th Street and 6th Street will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, July 18 and 19, to allow for a concrete pour for building construction.

Drivers are advised to use caution in these areas, and plan alternate routes of travel whenever possible.

Detour routes will be posted in areas where there are road closures.
