A contractor has hit a power grid at the intersection of Milwaukee Street and Westpark Streets in west Boise, causing a power outage that Ada County Highway District officials say will last for some time.
“The traffic signal at this intersection is not currently functioning in any direction,” said ACHD spokesperson Nicole DuBois. “Idaho Power crews are there working to restore the power, and flaggers are being moved into place to assist with traffic. There is no estimate of when power will be restored to the signal at this time, but we are expecting it to be out for an extended amount of time, due to the extent of the damage.”
Drivers are advised to avoid the intersection if possible or, if not, to follow all instructions given by flaggers.
