Emergency crews responded to the area of Franklin and Milwaukee Street after a vehicle was struck by a train at 10:28 AM, according to Ada County Dispatch.
The train stopped following the collision and blocked several lanes causing traffic to be redirected.
According to the Boise Police Department Twitter page, the driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries in the accident and was able to escape the vehicle before the collision occurred. She was the only occupant in the car at the time of the accident.
Witnesses told police that the driver, a 74-year-old woman from Nyssa, Oregon stopped on the tracks shortly before the collision occurred.
The driver was cited for stopping on railroad tracks which is an infraction.
Officers are happy to say no injuries are reported after train hits passenger car at Milwaukee crossing just north of Franklin.
