MOUNTAIN HOME – The police are asking for any witnesses to the fight at Optimist Park Sunday night to come forward.

On May 1, 2016, at approximately 9:00 PM, Mountain Home Police were dispatched to the rodeo grounds located at Optimist Park regarding a reported fight in progress. Upon arrival to this location, officers learned that a physical altercation had occurred between several individuals including the security personnel working there.

During the investigation, officers received conflicting stories between witnesses making it difficult for them to determine the initial cause of the confrontation and which parties acted in self-defense. There were some apparent injuries among participants. However, all parties declined medical treatment and no one was taken to the hospital at that time.

"In any investigation with these many people involved, it is important for us to make sure that we receive all the information and speak to as many witnesses as we can prior to making a decision on arresting or charging anyone,” said Chief Nick Schilz.

Mountain Home Police are asking for any information from witnesses. A video of the incident would be extremely helpful at this point. Please contact the police department at 208-587-2101.

“We will continue this investigation with the help of our detective division and once it is completed, the report will go to our prosecuting attorney's office for possible charges," added Chief Schilz.
