Boise Public Library officials Thursday unveiled the main library’s Comic Con Mural public artwork, designed by comic artist Adam Rosenlund.

In collaboration with Trademark Signs, the two framed vinyl banners -- titled "Imaginauts" -– are fastened to the main library’s exterior walls on the corner of 8th and River Streets.

“The murals celebrate the Boise Public Library Comic Con five-year anniversary -- and the public's growing interest in graphic novels and comic books,” said Jennifer Yribar, Boise City Department of Arts and History Outreach and Education Coordinator.

The Thursday morning unveiling was attended by comic artist Adam Rosenlund, Boise Arts and History Public Art Manager Karl LeClair, and Library Comic Con Co-founder Joshua Shapel.

The Library Comic Con 2017 runs Aug. 26-27, and is free to attend.

The Comic Con Mural is part of an annual mural design competition.
