A Melba man has sustained minor burns in a garage fire. Authorities say the call came in at 6:45 Thursday evening at a home on Riverview road in Melba.
According to Melba Fire Chief John Engle, when crews arrived on scene the attached garage was fully engulfed in flames.
Fire Departments from Melba, Upper Dee Flats, and Murphy responded to the scene. In total 5 engines and 2 water tenders were called out. Officials say the garage was completely destroyed but the home only sustained water damage.
Melba Fire Chief John Engle says that an adult male occupant received minor burns on his hands, the victim was treated and released.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
