Idaho Transportation Department crews will restrict Myrtle Street traffic to one lane between the Discovery Center and Ferguson Street in Boise tonight (April 14). “The lane restrictions are part of construction for the new Broadway Bridge over the Boise River,” said ITD spokeswoman Jennifer Gonzalez.

“One through-lane and one left-turn lane will be open from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday. Left-turns onto Broadway Avenue will be restricted for one to two hours and will be redirected to Park Blvd. and Front Street.

Crews will be installing new traffic signal poles at the intersection of Broadway and Myrtle Street,” Gonzalez said.
Crews will also be installing the new traffic signal poles at the intersection of University Drive and Broadway Avenue. Motorists may be stopped briefly while crews install the signal poles.

The Broadway Bridge is being replaced to meet today’s design standards, as well as current and future traffic volumes. When complete, the bridge will include more lanes for traffic, wider sidewalks, bicycle lanes and improved access to the Greenbelt.
